As I shared on Facebook, Matt and I had a kid-free weekend this past weekend. This wasn’t just any kid-free weekend. We drove the 4 hours down to Gillette Stadium for the concert of a lifetime: George Strait on his final tour. We are both huge George Strait fans so we knew we had to go. Even though he isn’t retiring, he isn’t touring anymore so we don’t know if he’ll ever do a concert up here again. I saved up for months and then Matt had the Christmas ice storm work so we were able to get our tickets and a nice hotel room.
I can’t even explain to you how awesome that night was. I’m pretty sure it is my favorite memory of all time now. I just about cried when the concert was over…because it was over. Our seats may not have been very good but it was so great to see him live. It was also pretty cool to finally see Gillette Stadium in person. My husband is quite the Patriots fan.
