Why You Need Multiple Savings Accounts

July 11, 2018 by Julie 2 Comments

When most of us think about savings accounts we just think of the standard one that comes when you open up a bank or credit union account. You have a saving account and a checking account. End of story. Right? Wrong. Having multiple savings accounts can be a budget and financial lifesaver. Sure, you can have just one and just add to it without thinking about anything else. Or you could even have just one and keep a tally in a notebook or Excel spreadsheet of what all that money is being saved … [Read more...]

Why Moms Need a Nap (But Never Take One)

June 27, 2018 by Julie Leave a Comment

Working moms. Stay at home moms. Work at home moms. There is one thing they all have in common. They are all tired! All the time. Motherhood is exhausting before you even add in the rest of life. Motherhood never has any true downtime. Even when they are in your bed, you never know if one of your kids is going to have a nightmare, spike a fever, or, every mom's worth nightmare: start throwing up. When they go to Grandma's for the weekend/week? Still not fully off duty as you are wondering how … [Read more...]

Amazon Prime Benefits- Beyond Two-Day Shipping

June 13, 2018 by Julie Leave a Comment

You're online. You're reading a blog. Therefore, you probably know about Amazon Prime. You hear about it everywhere! It took me years to finally purchase Prime. I wasn't sure it was worth it. Oh my goodness, I wish I had done it sooner! Yes, I love the two-day shipping. That is a huge benefit for someone who orders from Amazon all the time. I love no longer having to wait until I have a certain amount before I order (although, sometimes I forget and still wait for a while). However, there are … [Read more...]

Happy, Frugal Life- May 2018

June 1, 2018 by Julie Leave a Comment

May is one of my absolute favorite months. It's when spring really seems to arrive here in Maine. It's also Mother's Day and my birthday! Sometimes we joke that it is the month of Julie. General review May started off with strep throat...for me. It was incredibly miserable. Thankfully, my mom was able to take a few days off of work to take my girls. I was fairly incapable of "mommy'ing." It also goes to prove that moms take care of their kids, no matter how old they get. May did get better. … [Read more...]

Make a Chore Chart That Works

May 23, 2018 by Julie Leave a Comment

In my house, getting my oldest to do her chores can be a full-time job. The little one still isn't old enough to have any real, set chores and is still in that really wants to help stage. The oldest one, the six-year-old, has the whining, melting, "but I don't like that" down to a tee. Chores can be an absolute frustration here. We tried so many methods of getting her to do her chores. When she was little, she had a chart with happy faces or sad faces. If she had enough happy faces, at the end … [Read more...]

Products That Save Money

May 16, 2018 by Julie Leave a Comment

Do you find it easy to spend money? I know I do. There is always something new or excited or even practical that I want to buy. With advertising and marketing, it can be easy to be sucked into thinking you need to buy a certain item. It can be hard to make wise decisions when spending money because, if you are like me, you want to buy it all! Since none of us have unlimited money, most of us have learned to curb our desire to spend. But what if I told you there are products that save money? Yes, … [Read more...]
