It has been over month since I made this post about reducing our debt. A lot has happened since then. And not in a good way.
Until Matt got paid today, we had a total of $8.66 to our names. That’s it. No more. Well, some change in a jar but less than $5 worth. Still don’t have much more than that.
Plus, it gets worse. This month, the van needs registered, Matt really needs new work boots and this is the one month out of the year they are 20% off, and the laptop is still being limped along. Not to mention, the passenger side window in my van hasn’t worked in a year.
So….not getting ahead right now. In that blog post, I owed $843 still on my smallest loan. I am currently only down to $796. Not the great headway I had hoped.
Here’s the good news. We have $150 coming to us as we had to make a ferry reservation for a competition Matt is doing next month. Abby and I aren’t going and 3 other people are taking our places. So the fare split 4 ways is $50/each. So that money isn’t just gone forever.
More good news is that we are getting paid to run a competition in a couple weeks. It won’t cover everything we need but it will cover the van registration.
Sometimes I feel like Murphy is a long-term not-so-welcome guest in my house. I don’t think he is ever going to leave.
