(I received a complimentary e-cloth to review for you! All opinions are my own.)
About a month and a half ago I was approached by e-cloth to review one of their cleaning cloths, the Kitchen Cloth (and I get to offer one to one of you wonderful readers!). I was seriously excited! The e-cloth claims that you can clean with just water. This is because of a special combination of polyester and polyamide. The fibers are supposedly so strong and close together they can pick up more dirt and grime in one swipe with just water than a regular cloth or sponge can. It basically sucks up the dirt. This graphic explains it way better than I can.
Cleaning with just a cloth and water seemed way too be good to be true. So once I got it I decided to put it to the ultimate test: a microwave covered in tomato splatter from multiple days before. Really stuck on stuff that would normally take a lot of time and elbow grease to removed, no matter what cleaning trick I used.
I ran warm water over my cloth and squeezed out most the water so it wasn’t dripped water. It was a little more wet than just damp. There was one section of my microwave, the top, that needed a little more work. Thankfully, the Kitchen Cloth had a little corner that had a non-abrasive scrubby part.
Frankly, I was quite impressed. I couldn’t believe how clean my microwave was and how easy and quick it was. It took me about 5 minutes to get my microwave clean. It also worked great on the drips on the front of my stove. I did wash it once to see how well it worked after. It is suppose to work for up to 300 washes. It did still a good job after one washing. It is also suppose to remove 99% of bacteria by trapping it, like the dirt, in the fibers. Then you just rinse the cloth under hot water and all the dirt and bacteria go down the drain. I can’t speak to that part as I have no way of testing the bacteria before and after use. However, as just a cleaning cloth, I am highly impressed.
I love that I can now clean my kitchen with just water and with very little effort. I am hoping to use some of their other cloths. Since their products are actually quite affordable, especially compared to some other “just use water” cleaning cloths, I probably will!
