-Maple syrup season is upon us. Matt spend the weekend getting our sap “house” created. It is our Ez-Up canopy from lumberjack season, lumber, and a few tarps. May look a bit like redneck engineering but it works quite well. Unfortunately, as Matt is in and out of the house a lot and still setting things up, I can’t find my kitchen table under all the stuff. 🙂
-We did boil a little bit of sap down in the house. We now have about 1/4 cup of syrup. There is just something about making your own. You may be able to buy pure maple syrup in the store but it just tastes different when you make your own. Much better. The baby loves it in her yogurt.
-I crossed over to the dark side on Friday. I finally caved in and got a smart phone. I have always been so anti-smartphone. I am still not thrilled by having the extra expense of a data plan but…..
I like the phone. I really do. It is so handy to have. The main reason I got it was for the ability to use a credit card reader. Come this fall I am planning on doing some craft fairs. I know that I will have many more sales if I can accept credit cards. But in the meantime, I’m liking a lot of the apps I can get. And posting pictures straight to Facebook without having to take the card out of the camera, upload to the computer, etc. is so nice.
-Abby turns 1 in 16 days. How is that possible? Seems like just yesterday I was complaining how uncomfortably huge I was. Then I was trying to figure out why she was crying at 3 in the morning.
That’s life here in a nutshell. How are all you doing? Anything interesting going on as we go into spring (some of you)/mud season (here)?

I don’t think this Kansas girl is ever going to get to make maple syrup, but I’m enjoying spring anyway!
