I often get asked how can I stay home with the baby all day? Don’t I get bored? How do I manage to fill my time?
I always want to laugh. I wonder how they manage to work and still get everything done around the house. I don’t get even half of what I want to accomplish done.
There are always regular chores to be done then special projects and even fun projects to do. I find I often don’t even have time for the fun things I want to do, like read.
Sure, there are days I don’t do much beyond surf the web, watch TV, and chase the baby around. We all need down time. Then there are days I’m so busy I have stop and ask myself, “Did I remember to eat lunch?”
Most my days include the following:
-dishes
-laundry
-vacuuming
-cooking dinner
-baking/cooking other than dinner
-cleaning/picking up
-playing with the baby
-random house projects
-daily baby care
Sometimes my days include:
-errands
-special project with the baby
-special project I want to do
-blogging
-budget planning/money saving planning
There is always something to do. Some days, I don’t get everything done. Just not enough time in the day.
Even though money is tight, I feel so blessed to be able to stay home with Abigail. I love that I am able to be with her and see her grow. Sure, I get bored every so often but don’t you sometimes get bored with your job? I love that I am able to stay home and take care of my house and household things for my family.
Staying at home isn’t for everyone. I understand that. But neither is working outside the home. Most people assume that once Abigail is in school, I’ll go back to work. That isn’t the case. First of all, we’re planning on homeschooling. Secondly, I feel called to be home. This is where I belong. It’s okay if people don’t understand how I could possibly want to stay home or what I do all day. I don’t understand how they could possibly want to go to work. 🙂
