I shared on the Logger’s Wife Facebook page but I would like to share here as well.
We are dealing with a sick child right now. Not, “oh she has a cold” sick. She has been having issues with her stools for one week today and 4 days ago, she had a rectal prolapse.
Technically, it is a mucusal prolapse or partial rectal prolapse. Basically, when she poops, a bit of her rectum comes out as well. It goes back in within 15-20 minutes but they don’t know why this is happening. We are waiting on some lab results to see if anything weird is going on. We have an appointment with a specialist towards the end of next week.
She will probably continue to have the prolapses each time she poops for awhile. The specialist we are seeing says that it should resolve itself within a month. Can I just say that, as a mom, a month is a long time?
She is on a modified BRAT diet (bland diet) until we get to the specialist, just to help her system relax a little. Meanwhile, each potty trip is a stressful experience for the whole family. Most of the day she is perfectly fine. Then life is insane for the time she is in the bathroom and for about 15 minutes after. Not to mention she hates half of the approved foods to eat.
All that being said, I will not be posting much right now. I just don’t have the brain power to write right now. I hope to pop in once a week or so but I can’t guarantee that right now. Taking care of my sick little girl is my number one priority right now.
Also, my designer has my new blog design complete! So sometime soon she will be moving my blog to it’s new platform and uploading the new design. That is some exciting news!
