I love sending and receiving Christmas cards. I really enjoy it. I love displaying the cards we receive. Last year I arranged them to look like a Christmas tree. I also love trying to find a cute way to write our Christmas letter.
But it is so time consuming not to mention expensive to send cards. Sending 50 cards is $23 in just postage, not counting the cards, paper for a Christmas letter, photos if you add those, etc.
With our recent change in income, there was no way we could afford to do cards this year. But I didn’t want to just ignore doing cards completely either.
That is how I decided that this year we will be doing e-cards. This way we are still sending out our yearly update that many seem to love and we are still managing to not spend money we don’t have. There are a couple people on our list that don’t have e-mail addresses so I will have to print and mail theirs. That should only be about $1 in postage and a few cents to print so I am still saving a large chunk of change.
