I use maple syrup in so many different ways. It is probably my favorite natural sugar alternative. One of the many things I make with maple syrup is iced tea. (If you’re curious as to why I use so much maple syrup, check here.) Not only is it cheaper to make iced tea yourself, this version is also a healthier iced tea. I make this about every 5 days or so. It makes about 2 liters. It’s prefect if you are trying to replace refined white sugar with natural sweetener options.

Maple Iced Tea
(recipe by me, Julie Taylor @ Logger’s Wife)
Ingredients
8 cups of water
5 tea bags
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Directions
1. Add the tea bags to a pot, add 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil.
2. As soon as it is boiling, remove from heat and stir in the maple syrup.
3. Allow to cool. I usually let it sit a couple hours so that it steeps fully and is room temperature. Once cooled, remove tea bags. Add lemon juice to remaining four cups of water. Add the tea and the lemon water to a pitcher. Serve cold.

I made this as soon as I saw the post, I am just now drinking it, longest two hour wait ever…it is amazing!

I’m so glad you liked it! Bonus: Maple syrup has a ton of minerals and vitamins in it. So it’s even good for you….at least, compared to regular sugar. 😉

Sounds yummy! I will definitely try it. Hoping it is still extra sweet! How do you feel about doing so with honey?
Julie @ Loggers Wife says
You can control the amount of sweetness just by adding more of less maple syrup. My husband doesn’t want it super sweet so it may not be quite sweet enough for you. I have never tried it with honey but if you do, come back and let me know how it turns out! 🙂
