I was watching The Rachael Ray Show last Thursday and decided her recipe of the day looked amazing.
French Onion Patty Melts. Doesn’t it look good? So I did what anyone else would do.
I promptly Pinned the recipe for later then put it on my menu.
It sounds so simple. Caramelize the onions, cook the burgers, assemble sandwiches, then cook just like grilled cheese. Perfect! I can totally do that.
Wrong.
I have made caramelized onions many times before. This time, quite burnt. So I had to start all over.
Dinner took me an hour to make. My kitchen was a mess with no more space to put things. The burgers were literally on a plate on top of Matt’s lunchbox. It was the only place left. Of course, the baby was screaming and Matt wasn’t home so that added a whole other aspect to making dinner.
The did taste pretty good but not worth the hassle.
