There are a few Christmas movies that I just have to watch every year. No question. They will be watched.
Elf
White Christmas (on Thanksgiving night)
A Boyfriend for Christmas (Hallmark type movie)The Santa Claus
Christmas Comes to Willow Creek
It’s a Wonderful Life (on Christmas Eve)
There are others that I like to watch and I tend to watch a lot of the made for TV movies on ABC Family and such. But those 6 I really have to watch for it to feel like Christmas. The top 3 being White Christmas, Willow Creek, and It’s a Wonderful Life.
I never did watch White Christmas on Thanksgiving this year. In fact, I haven’t even watched it yet. I also usually watch Willow Creek that weekend. Not this year.
So tonight, I finally put in Willow Creek. And you know what? It officially feels like Christmas now. The tree and other decorations have been up for awhile. I finished gift shopping last week. I’ve done a lot of baking. But it took this movie to make it truly feel like the Christmas season.
Christmas Comes to Willow Creek was also my Dad’s favorite Christmas movie when I was a kid. Since I was always a “Daddy’s girl” it is no surprise that this movie is so important to me. Although I’m sure it was Dad’s favorite because of the truck and the “Duke boys” being the starring actors. 🙂 My mom always loved it for Domingo, the “shepherd.” But is he really a shepherd and what happened to his house after the storm let up? But I won’t mention more because I think that you should watch this movie for yourself.
