This month starts a new monthly feature called Small Business Moms (if you would like to participate, I’ll be sharing a link at the end of this post). Since Logger’s Wife not only helps you stretch your budget, but also helps you learn how to make extra money at home, I wanted to feature some of you great work at home moms. Not only does that help those moms get exposure, it helps encourage the rest of us that working from home and running our own business really is possible!
This month’s Small Business Mom is Amber Pelletier. Amber is a new Thirty-One consultant (and actually a personal friend of mine).
Hi, Amber! Tell us a little about yourself:
I am a stay at home mom to 2 wonderful children. We are a homeschooling family. I love spending time with my husband, teaching my children, scrap booking, and finding new ways to save money.
Tell us about your business:
Thirty-One specializes in bags and purses. They also carry organizational solutions. Thirty-One places its focus on empowering women and building relationships.
How did you get started with Thirty-One? How did you decide you wanted to run your own business?
I got started as an independent consultant with Thirty-One at the end of January 2016. I wanted to be able to continue homeschooling our children and also contribute to our finances.
What are your top three favorite products that you sell?Miles of Style
What do you love most about being a work at home mom?
I love that my family can still come first. I get to enjoy all the special moments of raising my children myself, while contributing to the family income.
Do you have any advice for moms thinking about starting their own business?
Practice, practice, practice and don’t let your fears get the better of you.
Can you share a favorite “mom moment” with us?
I was talking to my children about the training session I was going to that evening. I was telling them that Mommy really wanted to be good at her new business. And my daughter jumped in with “To do that you need to practice, practice, practice.” It was nice to know that she was listening to something I had told her hundreds of times and making a connection with it.
Thanks so much, Amber, for being our first ever featured mom on Small Business Moms! Be sure to check out Amber’s website. I know there are a couple bags I am eyeing. 😉
