Do you ever wonder why computers just seem to stop working? And why do our lives just seem to suddenly come to a stop when the computer crashes?
We got our laptop back yesterday, the Acer. It was still having booting issues but it started after 6 tries. Then I turned it off and on again one more time to make sure. Yup. It works.
Matt gets up this morning. Won’t start. We tried about 20 times. Finally started. Well, the power cord fell out and Matt didn’t notice. The battery doesn’t hold a charge so you have to keep it plugged in. Sure enough, computer turns off. Won’t turn on again. I tried close to 40 times. Nothing.
Take it back. He’s going to look at it again, no extra charge. But he did manage to get my old laptop up, the Compaq.
Of course, all my stuff is on the Acer but at least I have some things and can get on the internet. Well, it just randomly shut off. Apparently it still likes to overheat. Great.
So I’m left with a decision. If he gets the Acer working for sure, do I sell him this one to pay for that one? Do I keep the Compaq as back-up? If he can’t fix the Acer, I still have to pay for both. I have no idea how that is going to happen. Looks like my grand plans of getting some debt paid off by the end of the year may have to get pushed back a bit.
I think I need to get rid of our guest bed. Maybe Murphy will move out if he isn’t so comfortable.
