Just a quick update about how things are going since my break.
~ My emotions are in a much better place. There are still some “big and scary” changes to come and there are still some after affects of some hurt feelings from one situation, but it will all be okay. I may not be happy and I really don’t like change but I am at peace. No matter what comes in the next few months, God has everything under His control. There is a quote (I think it is by Jill Savage but not 100% on that) that says something like, “It’s not okay with my circumstances, but it is well with my soul.” That is where I am now.
~ Abby is feeling her toddlerhood. “No” and “mine” are her two new favorite words. Tantrums, potty training regression, and skipping naps are her new favorite past times. It is obvious she will be two this month. It is making for two very tired parents by the end of the day. I have renewed my caffeine addiction.
~ I’m finally making some more progress on home projects as well as getting some new items for the Etsy shop. It feels good to get things done. I have about 1/3 of the kitchen cabinets painted finally. We have some big renovations up this year. Nothing majorly expensive but stuff involving drywall and new walls and a bit of electric work. Just time consuming.
~ Maple syrup season will soon be here. We’re slowly getting ready but the weather is still really cold. So not trying too hard to get all the buckets washed and such. We have a least another 7-10 days before the sap will start to run. Once maple season hits, it gets so busy here. Every night and weekend is spent out at the evaporator, boiling sap down to syrup.

Hang in there! Toddler hood is hard; especially on top of everything else that is going on!

I was thinking, “Gee, working infant/toddler care at daycare wasn’t so hard.” Then I remember that I had at least one other co-teacher and the kids went home at the end of the day. But I know that the days may be long but the years are short. 🙂
