If you’re like me, you always thought it was odd to order coupons online through coupon clipping services. I mean, how are you actually saving money if you are spending money on the coupons? Then I realized. I spend money on a Sunday paper when there are good coupons. How is that any different?
So I took the plunge. I ordered my first coupons just over a month ago. Then I did it the next week. Then off and on since then. Here is what I have discovered.
1- It is actually cheaper to order coupons than it is to purchase a paper. Most coupons are about $0.08-$0.12 and most shipping is roughly $1. By the time you purchase your coupons and pay for shipping, it is often cheaper than a weekend paper.
2- You can get just what you want and often as many as you want. How many times have you only needed a few of the coupons in the inserts? By ordering, you are only paying and getting what you want and need. As far as ordering as many as you want, the only thing stopping you for ordering more than a certain amount is the clipper service’s policies.
3- You are paying for the clipping services not the coupons. It is illegal to sell the coupons themselves. You are paying for their time to clip. What you need to know about ordering coupons online Click To Tweet
4- Shipping isn’t super fast. It usually takes anywhere from 3-10 days to receive my order. It tends to be more like 5 days most the time but it can take longer. So I have to order first thing in the week if I’m ordering for a specific sale.
5- The good coupons go fast. Often, the clipping service will be out of the really good coupons fairly early.
I will continue using clipper services for sure. I love that I can get a couple of each coupon I need for less than the cost of a Sunday paper. It just makes sense to me.
