After paying bills, a stock up grocery trip, saving for a big purchase we need sooner rather than later, and paying some other things, we had $10 left for groceries this week. Thankfully, Matt did very well at the lumberjack competition Sunday. After picking up some early dinner on the way home, we had $50 left (he earned more but some of it has to be mailed).
That’s $50 for all the regular groceries we needed. 5-7 years ago that wouldn’t have been a problem. But considering a gallon of milk is now $4.29, harder to stretch $50 now.
I am happy to report after stops at Hannaford and Walmart, I had $5 left.
Yay!
But now Abby has a very, very bad diaper rash and one of the things that helps her is to take a break from cloth diapers for a couple days. So now Matt has to stop and buy diapers on the way home. But still, I’m quite proud of how well I did. Even got a box of ice cream bars for $0.97! 🙂
