I have an obsession with organization. I’m slowly getting my house organized to my liking. Very slowly. That’s what happens when A) you’re too broke to go buy all the cool containers you want all at once and B) an organized minimalist marries a messy pack rat.
One area that I keep trying to figure out is my linen closet. In our last place, we had a hall closet and a bathroom closet. Here, we only have the bathroom one. So everything has to be in one place.
Here is what I started with when we moved in.
About 2 years ago I painted the walls so I was left with this.
Of course, all of the stuff in this picture (and more) was just put back on the bottom shelf.
I got very sick of not being able to get something out with having to more other stuff so I bought a $6 over-the-door shoe organizer. This is what my closet looks like now.
Much better and much easier. One of the things I like best is that all my hair barrettes, clips, etc that were in a drawer in the bedroom can now be in the bathroom.
I would like to get a little mini-plastic drawer set to store all my nail polish and make-up type things but that will have to wait. I have a few other projects I would like to tackle first.

Thanks Maggie. We only had the two bedroom closets in our old college apartment. Then I was spoiled by our duplex that was new construction.
Eventually, the door will be replaced but until then, it is just the old ’90s dark wood hollow core door.
