This is a tough one for me. I just missed out on a great deal on butter and chicken. Excellent deal even. $1.79/lb for chicken and a pound of butter for $1.67. But to get these deals I would have had to drive the 40 minutes into the “big city.”
I’m really sad that I missed out on these deals but it just wasn’t in the budget this week. If I am going to drive that far I want to stock up on many things, go to a few stores, etc. I like to make that trip worth the drive. Since that trip just wasn’t in the budget, it would have been foolish of me to make it just for a couple of good deals. It would have cost me more than the deals were worth to make that trip.
Sometimes, as hard as it my be, the frugal thing to do is to not buy the good deals, even when they are amazingly good.
