Today is the first day of spring…..although you wouldn’t know it to look out my window and see a foot of freshly fallen snow.
Today is more important than that.
Today is also Abby’s first birthday!!
It is just amazing how quickly that year went by. This time last year I was in the hospital recovering from a c-section. It was 70-80 degrees outside. I missed all the nice weather and was so mad about it.
It’s also amazing how much she changed and grew in a year. You’d think after working in infant care for a number of years I’d be used to how quickly they change. But it feels so different when it is your own child.
This year she has:
-learned to roll over
-learned to crawl
-learned to pull herself up and cruise along the furniture
-started sleeping through the night
-started to eat real food and fed herself
-said “dada,” “momma,” “hi,” “again (aden),” “all done (aw duh)”
-started giving kisses
-learned she is her own person
We don’t have many plans for today. Comfy clothes, she might get her gifts from us today, thinking pancakes for dinner since she loves pancakes.
Her party is Saturday. I still have so much to do to get ready for that….including sew her dress. I can’t wait to show you the pictures from her party. We are doing the cutest theme!
I really need to get after that “To Do” list. But I just can’t get over my baby girl. I thank God for her every day. I am truly blessed to have Abigail as my daughter. I am so glad God gave her to me.
