We don't tend to think of Easter as being an expensive holiday. We tend to only really think about Christmas as a big money spending holiday. But Easter can be. Between dying eggs, fillers for plastic eggs for Easter egg hunts, and Easter baskets. Not to mention Easter dinners. We all know that Easter isn't all about egg hunts and chocolate bunnies. We know that Easter is about celebrating the fact that Jesus is Lord. It's about remembering what He did for us. However, especially those of us … [Read more...]
Why I Stopped Cloth Diapering
I know, I know. I've always talked about how much I like cloth diapers and how much money I save by doing that. I have since changed my mind. A couple of months ago I was having issues with Abby leaking through her diapers almost the second she wet them. I tried stripping the diapers. Twice. I tried re-laminating the covers. Twice. Cloth Diapering
We decided awhile ago that we would be doing cloth diapers to save money. Cloth diapers are so different from how they were when I was a baby so I knew it would be easier than years past. We are doing the cheapest option, prefolds, seen above, and a cover. There are all kinds of new cloth diapers like all in ones (the diaper and cover are one piece), ones that have disposable liners, and tons more. However, what we are doing, is not only the cheapest but also the easiest to care for. They … [Read more...]
