1. I used my Fuel Rewards Network card to fuel up my van. It only saves 3 cents per gallon for me right now but all savings are good savings!
2. I packed our lunches for competition days. It can be a lot work to get everything ready ahead of time but considering an average fair food meal is about $10, I’m saving us close to $20 per competition. Since we had seven competitions this month, that is just under $140!
3. I was able to use some coupons combined with a sale to get six boxes of cereal for only $2! That worked out to about $0.33 per box. We tend to have cereal as a snack most evenings. My husband has to have some form of corn flakes in the house at all times.
4. We went apple picking. Which in and of itself, is not a cheap adventure. However, it is much cheaper than going to a concert, an amusement park, etc. It is one of my favorite things to do each year. Plus, with all the apples, I can make things like apple butter and pies. So it’s totally a win-win. 🙂
5. Though some days have been quite chilling (I woke up to 27 degrees one day this month), we have had enough sunny days that I have been able to keep hanging the laundry out to dry. Since I’m just about out of propane, that is helping stretch what little bit is left.
