(I wrote this months ago and never got around to posting it. Months later and it is still true.)
This afternoon I was playing Abby’s Veggie Tales Sunday School Songs cd for her. She loves those singing vegetables. Totally rocking out to Bob and Larry, including choreography and harmony. I am not ashamed to admit that. We were having a grand time.
Then we settled down as I had some dishes that needed washing but I still kept the cd on for Abby. Just listening I was struck by something. Just how simple kids’ Bible songs are.
We as adults makes Christianity super complicated, and rather legalistic I might add but that is a post for another day. We don’t just simply live the Bible like kids do.
“This is my commandment that you love one another that your joy may be full.”
Simple.
“My God is so big, so strong, and so mighty there’s nothing my God cannot do.”
Simple…and often forgotten.
Granted, as we get older life gets more complicated. But really Christianity boils down to God loves us, sent his Son to save us, we just need to believe this and give our life over to God. Simple. Completely and utterly simple.
