Monday’s competition was going so well. Matt had placed in a couple of events which paid for our day.
Then disaster. I tried to take the handles off the crosscut saw when the wrench slipped. Drove my hand right into the teeth of the saw. Sliced my pinky finger. Fair first aid got it bandaged up while Matt packed up the van. Thankfully I had family there to take Abby while Matt and I went to the ER.
Eight stitches later….
I’ll spare you the picture as it is kind of gross but I cut right across the middle knuckle. I can’t bend that finger at all right now. Thankfully, the tendons are okay (barely) but it is just the location of the cut that is keeping me from bending it.
I had a splint on until this morning. I will be keeping it on at night to keep from bumping. I can’t do a whole lot with my right hand which is hard as I’m right handed.
I had “babysitters” the past two days to help as I couldn’t do diapers, dishes, etc. Today is my first day on my own. I’m doing okay. Diapers are slow. I have disposable gloves to keep my hand clean during diaper changes and reusable ones for dishes and such.
I am doing okay. The saw wasn’t moving and I just grazed the tooth so it really isn’t that big of a deal. The only reason the cut is as bad as it is is because the saw was very, very sharp. But that also made it a clean cut so it will heal better.

I cut the end of my pointer off with an axe this July, I feel your pain. Take it slow and if she’s in jammies all day it won’t kill her!

Ouch. Didn’t know you did that. Of course, we’ve been out of church for awhile since we’ve been on the road.
I’m doing the bare minimum. Diaper changes are still the hardest thing. Although, it is trying me crazy that I can’t crochet just yet. I have an order to finish and a bunch of things I wanted to market for fall. Running out of time.
