Two dollars. That is how much money we had in the checking account this week.
No groceries. No gas. No diapers. No cat food. Nothing.
It gets worse. We are out of almost everything in this house. Pork. Beef. Trash bags. Bananas. Cat food. Diapers. Eggs. Bread. Cereal. And many other things. Not to mention all the things we are now almost out of.
Meals have gotten quite interesting. The cat….not impressed with her food being rationed to last until tomorrow morning when we get a paycheck again.
We did not plan on only having $2 this week. Matt did not place as well at Sunday’s competition as he normally does. His times were excellent….but everyone seemed to have excellent times. This competition had a low payout. We didn’t know that until they started handing out awards. So instead of making the money we needed for gas and dinner as we were 4 hours from home, Matt made $5. Registration was $10. That meant no groceries this week.
But…we survived. It has honestly been an interesting challenge. I prefer to have more of a stockpile if I need to live off of it but it was nice to see we can survive off of not much. I am very much ready for more variety though. I am very, very glad tomorrow is pay day. 🙂
