Well, I’m alive. Not sure if that is good, bad, or indifferent. It has been one crazy 10-ish days.
-We had issues with getting the wood for our competition. It finally came through from Company H, and at half the price of the original quote from Company R.
-Unfortunately, Company R has some pretty awful customer service. Let’s just say it is a very long story that involves having a quote considered an order and now I will never send that company any business.
-Focus needs a wheel bearing we think. At least. Not drivable at the moment.
-Truck broke down while pulling the trailer with the sawing stands to the fairgrounds. Matt limped it to the dealer. We think it is a ball joint. Still sitting at the dealer 40 minutes away until we get our check to get it fixed.
-So currently the only working vehicle is the van and it started acting weird this weekend. To say I’m pulling my hair out would be an understatement.
-We made it through the competition Friday. Learned some things for next year.
-Made it through the competition on Saturday. Matt didn’t have much to do but I needed to do scoring. Two days in a row wore me out.
-I made up tomato sauce yesterday. Didn’t get as much as we would have liked due to the blight hitting our tomatoes pretty hard. Need to freeze green beans today. We did get a ton of those.
-I need to start some fall cleaning this week. Temperatures are definitely starting to drop. I like to go into our long winters with a clean, uncluttered house.
My life should finally start to settle out again. We only have 2.5 competitions left (one is a college meet that we just go help with). As sad as I always am to see the end of lumberjack season, I am always looking forward to not being on the road every weekend and having full paycheck weeks again.
