As part of my effort to make much of what we eat and use myself and as part of our healthier eating habits (you can read my latest update on that here), I have been making chocolate syrup from scratch. It's actually quite easy. I purchased a clear squeeze bottle for cheap at Walmart so I could see how much syrup is left but you could use any container you would like to store your syrup. I often only do half a recipe. {photo credit: shutterbean via photopin cc} DIY Chocolate … [Read more...]
Stockpiling: Choose One
{source} {via} If you are like me, you might be a tad bit obsessed with watching the TV show, Extreme Couponing. While a good portion of the show is staged and it has caused some stricter coupon rules, it is still fun to see some of the stockpiles. Some are way over the top and selfish. Some are a little more normal and generous. But since the show isn't called "Average Couponing," you have expect that you are going to see some over the top shopping and people on there. Abby was a flower girl in her uncle's wedding. But the wedding was no where near us so it involved traveling and staying out of town. Friday was the wedding. Abby did a pretty good job walking down the aisle. She and the other flower girl did forget to drop their petals but oh well. At least they walked down the … [Read more...]
When You’ve Lost Your Job
Four years ago (2010) I was fired from a job. It's a very long and silly story. I had had zero issues and then all of a sudden I was chewed out some some minor issues then fired. But, honestly, I never liked that job. The timing for poor but it was the best thing that happened to me. Shortly after I was fired, I posted this list of things to do when you lose your job. The tips are still valid so I thought I would share them with you again. (Originally posted 7/11/10) Friday was I was … [Read more...]
