Shopping Trip Plan
I'm headed to Shaw's on Friday. Hoping a friend and her son will be joining us too. Will make it more fun. There are a number of sales that I want to take advantage of this week. I always tell you after the fact what I'm getting and sometimes those sales are gone by the time I post. So thought I would tell you want I'm planning on first. Laundry Detergent: An Experiment
I have never made my own laundry detergent before. I always just get the big bottle, you know, the one with the dispenser, of Sun Free and Clear at Big Lots for $6. Lasts quite a long time. But I already had all the ingredients I needed to make my own minus the Fels Neptha soap. Simple Frugal Tip: Pudding Cups
This is a short and sweet and kind of silly frugal tip.Don't buy pudding cups.Instead, buy little half cup sized Gladware containers and instant pudding mix. I just don't.I mix up the pudding according to the side of the box and put into the little containers before the pudding is set. Put the lids on and pop in the fridge. Instant pudding … [Read more...]
Shopping Trip…4.25.13
I'm a little disappointed in my shopping trip last week. Not in myself, just in general. The flyer said "select varieties" on sale for Cheerios. Usually that involves the original. It didn't this time. It was all the fancy stuff like frosted and chocolate. Basically, nothing for the baby. So I was not able to do a big and cheap stock up on those like I had hoped.I was able to get more cheap cranberry juice. We should be all set for a number of months now. I hope. Maybe. All of the above:6 … [Read more...]
Walmart Deal: Plastic Easter Eggs
Monday is my standard grocery shopping day. This usually means we (Abby and I) go to Walmart and Hannaford. Near the front door and in the first wide aisle, Walmart had their Easter stuff on clearance. I saw plastic Easter eggs marked down from $1.97 to $0.97 for 42 eggs. Not a bad deal so decided to pick them up for next year. Plus, I keep seeing games to play with toddlers using these eggs. I got to the register and the eggs actually rang up at $0.30! That's about $0.007 per egg. … [Read more...]
