Remember that word of the year thing? My word is determination. I broke it down to financially, materially, and physically.
I’m doing fairly well with the first two. That last one….not so much.
I have officially lost zero pounds. Oh, I lost some while still nursing Abby but then gained it back after she weaned.
Matt and I have even talked about it recently. It isn’t even so much a looks thing (although I would love to be hot for my husband). I have some family medical history that might skip me or at least be better if I am in shape. Not to mention the next pregnancy will be better if I weigh less and am in shape.
I really only need to lose 20 pounds. 20 pounds! So many other people have so much more to lose and they do it. They get off their butts and move. But not me. I struggle greatly with time. Then summer hits and I get even busier. And it gets hots. I have no desire whatsoever to exercise when I’m already hot.
Then I read about the Living and Active Challenge over at Peak 313 Fitness. It’s basically a five week challenge to be more active and to be more in the Word. Both things I am really bad at being consistent with.
So I have decided to join the challenge. It starts Monday, the 16th. Which is honestly quite perfect. I have a very busy weekend this weekend then not again until the end of the month.
I’m not always great with this type of challenge. I am much better with “real” accountability not Internet accountability. I lost 10 pounds in a month when I had a friend to work out with and I could afford a gym membership.
That is why I am telling you about this challenge. Maybe you all can help me stay accountable. And maybe you all want to join the challenge with me. Go over to Peak 313 and check it out.

I wish you the best of luck! I feel your pain 🙂 My son is almost 15 months old and I still haven’t lost the last 15 pounds I need to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I know it has a lot to do with having a more sedentary job now and quitting the military life but it still sucks when my pre-pregnancy wardrobe stares at me from the closet each morning as I put on another blousy shirt…

I weigh about the same as I did pre-Abby. This is the same 20 lbs I have been struggling with since college. 🙁 To have my husband tell me “I really want you to be healthier” hit me differently than any other reason for sure.
I too find that I reach more for those tummy hiding shirts.

This sounds great, Julie! I’ve been working on losing the weight I gained on bed rest, which is almost the same as your weight loss goal.
I’ll definitely check this out! I may even blog along with you!
