Friday was a big shopping trip for Abby and me. We left the house at 8:25, got to the first store at 9:03 and went to 5 more places after that. Was home in time for a late lunch at 12:30.
One of the main reasons we went into the “big city” was to go to Shaw’s. They had some great sales going on. Like Ocean Spray cranberry juice for $1.88 a bottle (Matt drinks a lot of cranberry juice) and pasta for $0.88 per one pound box. Weeks with really good sales and a good paycheck I like to go into town and stock up for those weeks when we don’t have a lot of extra money.
I was able to get everything pictured, plus a gallon of milk ( and there is one kielbasa hiding) for:
$36. 92
I saved $44.10.
That is a savings of about 54%.
Not the best haul or savings I have ever had but still very good. I didn’t buy very much pasta as last time I was in town it was cheap as well so had plenty still at home. I don’t stock up like you see some people doing on TV, just enough to get us through for awhile.
I do love it when I can save more than I spent. I feel like it was a successful shopping trip for sure. Plus, I had a Starbucks gift card so was able to treat myself to a skinny iced caramel iced macchiato while I was in town. 🙂

That is very true, Heather. 🙂

That’s a good savings to me, considering you bought healthy food and not a ton of junk food. Great job! I always buy extras when they are on sale (same as you, not like on some TV shows).

We try not to buy a lot of junk food. Even with coupons, I find that junk food really isn’t cheaper either. Plus, not good for you. We try to eat fairly healthy……just don’t look at that package of Oreos in my pantry. hahaha 🙂
