We had to go into the “big city” on Friday for an appointment. Since we were going to be in town anyway, I decided to head over to Shaw’s. We only have a Hannaford, Wal-mart, and Family Dollar here. Shaw’s is generally more expensive but they do have amazing sales. Plus, they are the only place I know of in the state that doubles coupons.
Here is what I bought and the price break-down. I apologize for the lack of picture but I needed to get Abby to bed the minute we got home.
2 liter of store brand ginger ale…. was $1.09 spend $1.00
2 liter Canada Dry Cranberry ginger ale spend $1.69
Reese Cups (snack bag) spend $3.99
2 loafs of wheat bread (B1G1) … was $7.98 spend $3.99
3.45lbs of boneless, skinless chicken….. was $11.45 spend $6.87
4 Breyer’s ice cream …… was $22.36 spend $5.96
(The sale price was $2.99. The deal was if you buy four, they were only $1.99 each. I then had two $1/2 coupons.)
I spend $23.94 and saved $24.56. That’s a savings of 51%.
We did get two items that were not on sale. I don’t normally do that at that store. However, we were going to a party the next day and needed a drink and the Reese cups were for making s’mores. 🙂
I have no idea how I landed on your blog. I was somewhere reading and clicked something and then boom, here i was! That ever happen to you?
Anyway, great deal on the ice cream and smores with reeses are SO GOOD.
Hi there! Glad you stumbled upon my blog. I have had that happen before, usually if I go blog-hopping. All of a sudden I’m 5 blogs away from where I started.
And yes, Reese s’mores are sooo good. I don’t think I will ever have a regular one ever again. 🙂
