With summer here and the temperatures only getting warmer, we are all looking for ways to feed our families without having to turn on the oven. I know that I am desperate for summer recipes. My house is great at holding heat in the winter. Unfortunately, the lack of shade trees makes that true in the summer as well. Using the grill is the obvious choice to keep the house from heating up more. However, we can only have grilled meals so many times. Plus, I like a little more variety than that and don’t always want to have to go outside to cook.
The slow cooker is another obvious choice for to cook without making the house hotter. But, if you are like me, you tend to think of winter dishes when you think of the slow cooker. I decided to change that this summer and have searched the best of the blogosphere for great summer slow cooker recipes. Here are the ones I am looking forward to trying the most.
Slow Cooker Lasagna (I have already tried this. It is a total game changer.)

Bonus: Although it is not a slow cooker recipe, it is quick, easy and doesn’t use the oven. It’s a favorite here all year long, be especially in the summer. Disassembled Shepherd’s Pie
