It's that time of year where I have to start thinking about what we (Matt, Abby, and I) want for Christmas. We have discovered that it is way easier to give a "wish list" to family rather than have this conversation come Christmas Day."Gee, I hope you really like it. I tried to hard to find something that you would like.""Great."*crinkling paper*"Um, wow! A combination egg beater shoe horn. I.....didn't know they made those."So as I am working through that, I thought I would share with you … [Read more...]
Thrift Store Finds
A couple weeks ago my local thrift store had their $5-Fill-A-Bag day. I've mentioned this before. I have missed the last few but was able to go this time.I got a pair of jeans for me, 2 long-sleeved shirts for me, 2 long-sleeved shirts for Abby, and a winter themed sleep bag for Abby. 6 items for $5. That's roughly 83 cents an item. Awesome! I didn't even completely fill the bag. I didn't take a picture of everything I purchased but here are Abby's new clothes. Hard to see but that light blue … [Read more...]

Shopping Trip…Major Savings
I'm very excited about last week's shopping trip. I actually didn't spend any money. Matt received a Walmart gift card for having a certain number of passed truck inspections at work. It came just in time too. Height of lumberjack season also means many short work weeks which in turn means small paychecks. But that is not the only reason I am excited. I was able to use a number of coupons and got a few items free, others very cheap. I did purchase some food items as well but these are the … [Read more...]
Grocery Store Savings…7.11.12
We had to go into the "big city" on Friday for an appointment. Since we were going to be in town anyway, I decided to head over to Shaw's. We only have a Hannaford, Wal-mart, and Family Dollar here. Shaw's is generally more expensive but they do have amazing sales. Plus, they are the only place I know of in the state that doubles coupons. Here is what I bought and the price break-down. I apologize for the lack of picture but I needed to get Abby to bed the minute we got home.2 liter of store … [Read more...]
It’s Here
My Kindle arrived on Friday!!!!I think I'm in love. lol. Most of the free books that I had wanted were still free. I even found a NASB Bible, the version one of our pastors uses, for $5.80. I love my printed NIV study Bible but its nice to read the same version that is being read out loud.I love that I can read while nursing Abby now. I can hold it one handed and don't need the other hand to turn pages like in a conventional book. There are also even more book to review though one of my book … [Read more...]
