I think we all have those days. By the end of the day, we have no idea what we did. The kitchen sink is still full, the laundry is still in multiple different states, and the floor needs to see a mop. You know you were busy all day but you just feel overwhelmed and behind. You tell yourself that tomorrow will be better but tomorrow comes and it's the same. Somehow the next day you manage to get caught up...but the day after you are right back to being behind again. It's so infuriating. I know … [Read more...]
Christmas Break
I hope everyone had a great Christmas! What is it about December that just makes us moms feel so stressed out? Our September-October here was rough emotionally and financially. It seems like we have been playing catch-up ever since. It all came to a head for me a couple weeks before Christmas. Delayed stress reaction maybe? So I made a decision. I am taking this week, the week of Christmas, off. I'm not getting an actual vacation, not even a true staycation. But I am taking a light week. No … [Read more...]

Surviving Car Trips with Little Kids
Car trips can be a ton of fun! Junk food, radio karaoke, seeing new sights. But once you have kids, car trips change a little bit. Diaper change breaks, crying, snacks, thrown toys, breastfeeding/bottle time...it all adds up to make for a stressful adventure. As my husband does lumberjack competitions all over New England from July-October, I am no stranger to car trips with little kids. An average trip for us is 2.5-4 hours one way and we do 16-19 of these a summer. That's a lot of car time for … [Read more...]
No Excuses: The Difference Between Excuses and Reasons
Mamas, it's been awhile since I've written about something like this. I tend to stick with saving money, parenting, some cleaning, some mama hack type things, but not just something about life. I've had something on my mind for a few months. I read a blog post on prenatal fitness a couple months ago and it said, multiple times, "no excuses" to not being fit during pregnancy. Never once touched on the fact that some women have medical reasons to not exercise during pregnancy. It really grated on … [Read more...]
