Friday was a big shopping trip for Abby and me. We left the house at 8:25, got to the first store at 9:03 and went to 5 more places after that. Was home in time for a late lunch at 12:30.One of the main reasons we went into the "big city" was to go to Shaw's. They had some great sales going on. Like Ocean Spray cranberry juice for $1.88 a bottle (Matt drinks a lot of cranberry juice) and pasta for $0.88 per one pound box. Weeks with really good sales and a good paycheck I like to go into town … [Read more...]
Updates and New Boots
-As much as I enjoyed the parties we had this month, glad things have settled down. Parties on back-to-back weekends may not have been the best idea. Very glad for some normalcy and down time. Well, sort of down time. There are always things to do. :) -Maple syrup season is in full swing. We have already canned just under 4 gallons. Last week we didn't boil at all. Too cold for the sap to flow. This week...40s during the day, 20s at night. Perfect for the season. Pretty much means we will be … [Read more...]
Keurig and Other Deals From the Weekend
As promised, here are some of the best deals I managed to score this past weekend. I am so thankful for a husband that will go mall and other shopping with me on an anniversary getaway weekend. :)First, at Kohl's, we found a nice shirt for Matt that was $50, marked down to $7.50. Then I found a dress that I have been wanting for Abby. It isn't even available online anymore. It was the only one in the store and even in the correct size. I took that as a sign. It was originally $38, marked down to … [Read more...]
Grocery Trip……69% Savings
Today, I got up and drove the 40 minutes to the "big" city nearby to go to the expensive grocery store, Shaw's. Their every day prices are pretty steep. However, their sale prices are amazing. Plus, they are the only store I know of in the state (or at least near me) that doubles coupons up to 99 cents. I spend a total of $20.23 on everything pictured above. I saved $45.39. A 69% savings. Not an extreme couponer amount but still quite good. Here is the breakdown. 2 boxes Cheerios x … [Read more...]
My Christmas Card Deal
Because of Abby, I wanted to do a photo card this year. I usually just get marked down cards after Christmas and send those out next year. So I knew I would be spending more this year just because photo cards cost more.I was wrong.I was able to get 50 cards through Cardstore for $23.62.Which, by itself, is already a very good deal. But it gets better.37 of those already include stamps and are addressed!Only 37 of them are that way as you have to have them addressed to get the stamps included. I … [Read more...]
Shopping Trip…Major Savings
I'm very excited about last week's shopping trip. I actually didn't spend any money. Matt received a Walmart gift card for having a certain number of passed truck inspections at work. It came just in time too. Height of lumberjack season also means many short work weeks which in turn means small paychecks. But that is not the only reason I am excited. I was able to use a number of coupons and got a few items free, others very cheap. I did purchase some food items as well but these are the … [Read more...]
