One of the best ways I have found to save money and avoid aggravation has been to go shopping earlier in the morning. I try to get to the store no later than 8:30am. This doesn’t always happen, especially when I drive into the “big city” but it is the goal. When Abby was a newborn, we often got there about 7:30am. We were up anyway because she had to nurse so we would just go shopping. I also find there are more marked down items available earlier in the morning.
The alternative, if you can’t do mornings, is to go at there end of the day. When I was still working outside the home, I often did shopping after dinner time. I find the exact same benefits of less crowds and more deals and mark downs still available as I do when I go in the morning. I’m just more of a morning person so that is what I prefer.
