George Strait Weekend
As I shared on Facebook, Matt and I had a kid-free weekend this past weekend. This wasn't just any kid-free weekend. We drove the 4 hours down to Gillette Stadium for the concert of a lifetime: George Strait on his final tour. We are both huge George Strait fans so we knew we had to go. Even though he isn't retiring, he isn't touring anymore so we don't know if he'll ever do a concert up here again. I saved up for months and then Matt had the Christmas ice storm work so we were able to get our … [Read more...]
Seven Random Monday Morning Facts
1- It's 10am and I'm just now thinking about getting dressed. I had a strange start to the day. I'm usually more of a morning person than this but it's been an odd day. Second- It take approximately 40 gallons of sap to make just 1 gallon of syrup. Wow! Huge ratio for sure. Third- The weather has to be just … [Read more...]
Two (Simple) Exciting Things
I must share my excitement with you! They are small things but they both make me so incredibly happy.First:Saturday I took the leap and made granulated sugar from maple syrup for the first time. It was scary as you have to heat it to such a high temperature then stir it constantly until all the moisture suddenly leaves and it becomes sugar. Simple process but any time you heat sugar to a high temperature, it is scary with the possibility of getting burned, burning the pan, etc. I used my Kitchen … [Read more...]
Update from My Break
Just a quick update about how things are going since my break.~ My emotions are in a much better place. There are still some "big and scary" changes to come and there are still some after affects of some hurt feelings from one situation, but it will all be okay. I may not be happy and I really don't like change but I am at peace. No matter what comes in the next few months, God has everything under His control. There is a quote (I think it is by Jill Savage but not 100% on that) that says … [Read more...]
