Summer hasn’t even really started yet and it is already full. We will be doing 15 woodsmen/lumberjack competitions this summer. That is twice what we normally do. While this was the plan, it still seems like an awful lot. We will not exist again until after Columbus Day. Any weekend that we don’t have a competition, we will be sleeping or working on the house. But most likely sleeping.
I don’t think we will even have time for camping this summer. Which is sad but oh well. I love lumberjack season so it is fine.
This past weekend was our first show in Burke, VT. Matt placed (with his partner) 4th in log roll and 2nd in crosscut. Then he placed 2nd in the underhand chop. Which is kind of a big deal. He is very excited. He was only beat by a professional Timbersports competitor. That is kind of awesome. I just wish I knew what happened to the video. I don’t remember hitting stop but it cut of the last couple seconds. I really need to buy a camcorder so I can stop using the digital camera.
Here are some pics of the weekend in case you were wondering what it is I’m rambling on about.
This is log roll. The basic idea is to roll a log down to a set of pins then back up.
I don’t have any pictures of Matt’s underhand chop. If I can figure out how to upload video, you can at least get an idea. Even if the end is missing.
