Matt and I were suppose to have a lunch date two Sundays ago but our babysitter was sick and had to cancel. I thought about calling around and trying to find someone last minute but then decided we would just take Abby with us and instead of eating in the area, we would drive in the the "big" city. I had some shopping to do there anyway so we just did it then instead of me doing it with Abby the next day. It was honestly a nice afternoon together. One of the stops was Shaw's. I got ice cream and … [Read more...]
Fall Back = No Fun with a Toddler
The time change has kicked our butts here. Sunday was a pretty awful day. And church ran over. Which normally isn't an issue really at all. But since Abby thought it was 1:30 not 12:30, it made for a rough afternoon.A scene from our Sunday afternoonYesterday was a little better but Abby was still up an hour early. I was exhausted. It's possible that I fell a little asleep while we were watching Curious George after breakfast. Thankfully, by having a normal at home day, I was able to get Abby … [Read more...]
3 Simple Menu Planning Tips
I heard you. Yup. I did. You just sighed when you read "menu planning." I mean, who wants to sit down, try to think about the coming week, and then be tied into that plan? Or many things were different prints that didn't go together. It ended up being more of a pain than it was worth in the end.So now we are trying to just buy the things we … [Read more...]

Frugal Tip: Use Your Warranty
Sunday night when we got home from our last competition, we noticed the laptop was being strange. It kept beeping saying it was plugged in, unplugged, plugged in, etc. It was still doing it yesterday. I had to hold the power cord a certain way to get the battery to charge. As of last night, it wouldn't charge at all. I check Amazon for a new power cord. My old laptop I could get one for $6. This one....$20. But still cheaper than if I have to get the power jack itself fixed so I put it into my … [Read more...]
