The last time I updated on our debt payoff it was February....of last year (you can read that post here). I hadn't realized it had been that long. But honestly, we stalled out quite a big over the summer. Then the whole medical bill fiasco hit in November.I am happy to report that Abby's birth is finally paid off!! And the van will be paid off in June!! We will be ending up with another car loan unforunately. We are limping Matt's car along until we can get the van paid off. We aren't going to … [Read more...]
How to Use Bing Rewards to Earn More Swagbucks
I have found a new way to earn more Swagbucks in addition to the ways I already mentioned on this post last year. It's called Bing Rewards. Much like Swagbucks, your earn points by searching. But it is different. You earn points for clicking on certain things on your Dashboard. And you earn 1 point for every two searches, up to 15 points per day. You get to choose the reward you are working towards. You can choose a $5 Amazon gift card for 525 points. Or you can get 500 Swagbucks for 525 … [Read more...]
$100 New Windshield
{ David Castillo Dominici at http://www.freedigitalphotos.net }Matt was driving home from work when a truck in front of him threw a rock. It hit his windshield and cracked it. And as cracks are known to do, it spread. Begin the new windshield price research.$320. Yup. That is how much a windshield for a Focus would be. Ouch.I really didn't want to spend that kind of money if I didn't have. I decided to check with my insurance company to see if our plan covers glass. That seems to be pretty … [Read more...]
Why I Stopped Cloth Diapering
I know, I know. I've always talked about how much I like cloth diapers and how much money I save by doing that. I have since changed my mind. A couple of months ago I was having issues with Abby leaking through her diapers almost the second she wet them. I tried stripping the diapers. Twice. I tried re-laminating the covers. Twice. I tried checking Abby every 30 minutes. And still, she was soaking through her diaper and her pants at least once a day, if not two or three … [Read more...]
Balancing Working at Home and Being at Home

Most of the time you hear that and you picture a woman who works from home for a company, often one she worked for before having children. Instead, I work at home on my Etsy shop. On one hand, it is easier than working for a company as I control the hours, the product, etc. On the other hand, I have to work so much … [Read more...]
New Clothes for Abby…77% Savings
Abby has been in need of some clothes. She has need a couple more long sleeves in her size, some pjs, and most everything in the next size up. That may seem like a lot but we are trying to stay on the minimalist side on her wardrobe. We purchased a big bag of clothes for her this summer for cheap but she didn't wear most of it. Or many things were different prints that didn't go together. It ended up being more of a pain than it was worth in the end.So now we are trying to just buy the things we … [Read more...]
