I'm really struggling with being content right now. There are so many things that I would like to upgrade. So much of our frugal life is making do with what we have. Right now I am really wanting: an iPhone a Macbook a new desk All nice tools to have. But not necessary. I have a phone. It may freeze and I don't like it, but I own it. I have a laptop. It is broken right now but I own it and it makes do. I have a desk. It really doesn't work for what I need but it is better than the … [Read more...]
Ways I Saved in September
1. I used my Fuel Rewards Network card to fuel up my van. It only saves 3 cents per gallon for me right now but all savings are good savings! 2. I packed our lunches for competition days. It can be a lot work to get everything ready ahead of time but considering an average fair food meal is about $10, I'm saving us close to $20 per competition. Since we had seven competitions this month, that is just under $140! 3. I was able to use some coupons combined with a sale to get six boxes of … [Read more...]

I used coupons and sales to purchase most the food for Matt's surprise 30th birthday party.3. I redeemed two free coffee … [Read more...]
Maple Iced Tea- A Healthier Iced Tea
I use maple syrup in so many different ways. It is probably my favorite natural sugar alternative. One of the many things I make with maple syrup is iced tea. (If you're curious as to why I use so much maple syrup, check here.) Not only is it cheaper to make iced tea yourself, this version is also a healthier iced tea. I make this about every 5 days or so. It makes about 2 liters. It's prefect if you are trying to replace refined white sugar with natural sweetener options. {photo credit: … [Read more...]
